Pianist Christian Wallumrod leads a crack band for its first UK tour next month visiting The Sage Gateshead on 26 September, the Norwegian Church, Cardiff on 27 September, Lakeside Arts Centre, Nottingham on 28 September and The Spitz, London on 29 September.
The Norwegian's touring band has Nils Okland, violin, Arve Henriksen, trumpet and Per Oddvar Johansen, drums.
Performing without a public address system or electronics the emphasis on this tour is on the pure acoustic sound of the band. Wallumrod played at the Fertilizer festival with Close Erase in 2002 and has also toured the UK with Sidsel Endresen. Arve Henriksen needs no introduction to the UK scene having toured here with Farmers Market and with Supersilent while Okland has performed here with his own trio as well as with the BBC Concert Orchestra and Johansen has worked with the likes of Kenny Wheeler, Nils Petter Molvaer and Trygve Seim.
