Oxford launches first jazz festival

The city of dreaming spires is set to launch its first-ever jazz festival later this year.

Due to take place over the Easter weekend from 9-12 April gigs will be staged in venues such as the Ashmolean Museum, the Jacqueline du Pre Music building, the North Wall Arts Centre, St Michael at the North Gate and the Oxford University Student Union Debating Chamber. Ian Shaw, Gwyneth Herbert and Julian Siegel are among the names booked so far.
