Pink Freud and Sing Sing Penelope And More Good Shit From Poland Due for Fertilizer

The Fertilizer festival, with dates now confirmed for 11-18 May, focuses this year on, to borrow the festival's subtitle, “Good Shit From Poland”.

Located mainly at various London venues including Cargo, Rich Mix and Hoxton Hall, the festival takes an eclectic look at new currents in Polish jazz, improv and electronic music with several groups appearing for the first time in the UK. Artists taking part include the highly rated jazz rock group Pink Freud plus less familiar groups including Sing Sing Penelope, Contemporary Noise Sextet, Jacaszek, Baaba, Fisz, Male Instrumenty and Mitch and Mitch. Several of the artists, including post-rock jazz Bydgoszcz-based band Sing Sing Penelope and progressive jazz group the Contemporary Noise Sextet will also take part in a mini-Fertilizer tour. Pink Freud will also collaborate with Acoustic Ladyland’s Pete Wareham in Gdansk, Leeds and London. Fertilizer also hosts Polish film screenings, a family show and a sound postcards exhibition.
