Ronnie Scott’s Fiftieth Celebrated At Photography Exhibition

Getty Images, which last year bought the Redferns Music Picture Library, is mounting a photography exhibition from Friday titled The Spirit of Jazz in association with Ronnie Scott’s 50th Anniversary, curated by singer and pianist Jamie Cullum.
Redferns was founded by Ronnie Scott’s house photographer David Redfern in the early-1960s.
The exhibition which runs until 28 November at the Getty Images Gallery in Eastcastle Street, off Oxford Street in central London, features photographs dating back to 1927 chosen from the Hulton Archive, Michael Ochs Archives and the Redferns collection and includes the work of photographers Slim Aarons, David Redfern, Charles Hewitt and Michael Ochs.
Jazz musicians featured in the exhibition include Billie Holiday, Louis Armstrong, Nat King Cole and Eartha Kitt plus images of jazz clubs including the Cotton Club in New York, the Door Bar in New Orleans and Ronnie Scott’s in London.
