Ben Sarfas Quartet

Thursday, November 30, 2006

Brighton’s Ben Sarfas is still only 22 yet he’s a certified natural on the violin possessing an assured fluid style that is reminiscent of Shakti legend L Shankar, and has seen him work closely with ex-Brighton based (now Spanish resident) bass virtuoso Franc O’Shea live and on his new album ‘Alkimia’ and a growing rep as a talented sideman live with ex-Lamb singer Lou Rhodes and nu-soul diva Alice Russell.

Sarfas leads his own Brighton-based group of young maestros including the exceptional Tom Phelan on piano through funky original pieces and standards.
