Mark Crooks Quartet

Thursday, November 30, 2006

Tenor sax and clarinettist Mark Crooks has been seen in the recent past as one of the wonderful Clare Teal’s sidemen, now steadily building a respectable reputation of his own.

As a graduate of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Guildhall School of Music Crooks rose to wider recognition when he won Young Jazz Player of the Year in 1991. Crooks takes on anything from hard bop to straight-ahead jazz as he demonstrates his sizable talents as a leader in his own right.
