Peter Cincotti

Thursday, November 30, 2006

Prodigiously talented vocalist and pianist Peter Cincotti is mirroring some of Jamie Cullum’s moves but being just 19 and by all accounts a lean mean virtuoso with a sophisticated classical and jazz training, he is an intriguing and entertaining prospect live yet smoother on record with the odd unfettered bebop workout to prove his pianistic skills are genuinely impressive.

Critically acclaimed for bringing a maturity beyond his years to this music Cincotti’s sparkling piano chops are at the service of his effortless splicing of The Beatles ‘Fool On The Hill’ to ‘Nature Boy’ or ‘Spinning Wheel’ confidently reassigned as a tune Monk might have overlooked. Dashing, intelligent and immensely talented Cincotti will doubtless be a name on everybody’s lips over the next year.
