Urban Jazz Ensemble

Thursday, November 30, 2006

Founded by drummer Stephen Keogh, (hailing from the Republic Of Ireland), The Urban Jazz Ensemble boasts an international cast of cerebrally advanced composers and virtuoso improvisers.

The remaining talents of the group include American pianist Edward Simon, Canadian bassist Jeremy Brown as well as the sublime alto sax of our own Peter King and the fiery brilliance of Gilad Atzmon on sax and a variety Middle Eastern instruments, with Kevin Dean on trumpet and Michael Buckley on tenor sax and flute; all adding up to a night of compelling new compositions and old favourites recast in an unfamiliar new light.
