‘Jumbo’ Hirt was a byword for high-note trumpet technique and Bourbon Street grandstanding, and while this set of romantic standards, mainly set for strings by the Renaissance man of arranging, Marty Paich, shows a different side of his work, I can't imagine who'd want to listen to it.
