The Matchball release is a fine reissue of a Verve classic album from 1958 with some complementary bonus tracks, putting Webster in a septet alongside Art Farmer and Harold Ashby. The Avid, however, is in a different class, with four albums complementing the previous issue, with the balance of the 1957 Encounters Coleman Hawkins session and his epic quartet with Oscar Peterson both included.
