Based in Hollywood in the early 1950s, trumpeter Terry led some exemplary big bands, continuing his work in NY in the 1960s, and rounding up some fine colleagues in the process – notably drummers Shelly Manne, Alvin Stoller and Sonny Payne, who keep the bands moving and – as the title says – swinging.
