Here's an invite to a fab party. To celebrate 50 years on the planet, Douglas has handsomely boxed three recent releases, thrown in a DVD mixing a studio session with mini-films of rural idylls and provided a code to download four extra cuts (alternative takes and the unreleased and decidedly jaunty ‘Handwritten Letter’). If you've already got any of the elements you can just order what you haven't got, so saving a few dollars. And, yes, you can get a T-shirt too (same colour as the box, as you ask). Most lyrical, folkish and divinely mellow is Be Still, contrasting with the hard swinging Time Travel and the wide open spaces and breezy freshness evoking the great Canadian outdoors of Pathways. But stellar as Douglas' own talent is, it's the interplay with that band that startles, such as the piano and drum break on Pathways' title track and Oh's work on just about everything. So what you waiting for: hit ‘buy’ now!
