Complementing the Commodore Quartets that Ed Hall made with Teddy Wilson, this 1954 set of broadcasts – well recorded and atmospheric – finds him in similarly imperious form with an equally great pianist. Additional tracks with trumpeter Clyde Hurley are not in quite the same exalted league.
