This newly excavated live club performance finds fleet-fingered Pat

Martino earning his keep as one-third of a typical lounge bar organ trio of the time. Indeed, it wasn't an uncommon deployment for Martino as he'd already served time in identical line-ups fronted by Charles Earland, Don Patterson, Brother Jack McDuff and the like. The mercurial Martino was just 23 when he teamed up with Gene Ludwig, a feisty R&B-influenced player, who attempted to please all of the listeners all of the time with a broad repertoire that embraced Anthony Newley's ‘Who Can I Turn To?’, ‘Mr PC’ by his friend John Coltrane and Wes Montgomery's ‘Road Song’. Though this will be a must-have acquisition for Martino's most ardent fans, those who just can't get enough of a growling high octane B-3 Hammond will be seeking this out before it disappears.
