Not to be confused with Madonna's album with the same title, this is basically Ray Charles' regular small band. For the most part this comes across as a set of backing tracks just waiting for Brother Ray to slip behind the keyboards and add his unmistakable vocals. No real surprises here as Hank and friends rummage through the toy box to come up with some jittery boogaloo (‘Skunky Green’), a Horace Silver –influenced ‘Blues In Bloom’, a seasonal ‘Merry Christmas Baby’ plus the great Percy Mayfield's take on ‘Blues In The Night’ and ‘Two Years Of Torture’. Nobody disgraces themselves but then nobody raises the temperature.
