If you are in the mood for chill-out music, this is your destination. If it gets on to a Spotify playlist such as Chillout Moods, Deep Night, Chill Vibes and the like, it should do well.
There’s a distant spiritual jazz feel that lends a bit of depth and also a touch of 1970s CTI-like calmness in the instrumental passages that coalesce into a series of trancelike moods that largely pass by free from incident, a sort of 21st century version of Eric Satie’s ‘Furniture Music’ with synths.
Nothing is rushed, and with similarity on tone percolating each track this is music to do something else by – shopping, feeding the ducks in the park, commuting or replying to emails. It’s ideal function background, rather than foreground music, ideally suited to secondary listening.
