Denver-born tenor saxophonist Keith Oxman leads a consummate straightahead quintet session of mostly originals with influential fellow sax guest David Liebman. While Coltrane is the common cause here, Oxman’s brighter-toned bop complements the elder Liebman’s darker-edged, freer aesthetic to good effect.
