In 1961 multi-channel recording was in its infancy, so this pioneer session was celebrated for its clear fidelity, but 57 years later it's the music that counts – well-played unexceptional big-band fare, that's marginally amusing for the ‘hey it's stereo!' gimmicks like close-up xylophone, harp and acoustic guitar in the mix.
