The prequel to the HUM! s et (see above), this charts Urtreger from his 1954 debut to his great trio with Paul Rovère and Al Levitt that crucially gained him exposure in the US via John Lewis’s advocacy, and tracks like ‘Indian Anna’ (a contrafact of ‘Indiana’) and ‘Goofy the Cat’ are full of inventive fun.
