The zestful vocal queen (pictured right) of bebop needs no introduction and, at 87-years-ofage, she’s still full of charisma, heavily flirting with freedom on standards (and Bird-penned vocalese) on an album recorded live in November 2016 (at Castellanza in Italy) with a local quartet that includes the pianist Roberto Cipelli.
