This didn't turn out quite the way it was supposed to. On paper it looked like a safe-bet commercial proposition. Unfortunately, the enmity that existed between the two headliners didn't make for a rewarding collaboration. In truth it sounds as though the entire session was thrown together without any forward planning. For instance, Getz and Baker only appear together on three of the four tracks. Much better are the two live bonus tracks taped at The Haig four years earlier when Getz appeared with Chet's quartet.
