This appears to have been compiled by a blindfolded man with a large hatpin. Is it supposed to be an all-encompassing Art Blakey overview or a Jazz Messengers taster? If it's the former then why doesn't it include anything from Billy Eckstine's trail blazing bebop big band of Dizzy, Bird, Gil Evans, Quincy Jones or Jimmy Smith? If it's the latter the most criminal omission is something from the indispensable album the Messengers taped with Monk for Atlantic in 1957. In the end it's neither one or the other. Overall, there's nothing amiss in terms of the actual music – it's high-end hard-bop, but when picking a track from Hank Mobley's triumphant Soul Station then why ignore ‘This I Dig Of You’? Final word: much more satisfaction will be gained by acquiring the individual albums (most of which are now mid-price) than this package, which you'll probably find in one of those discount bookshops.
