Another well-filled reissue, combining two of the more unusual albums in Evans’ discography. The Jazz Collectors label clearly sees the selling point as What's New featuring Steig who, while getting his fusion career off the ground, was a regular sitter-in, thanks to previous work with Gomez. Mann too was about to break out with his own fusion when he organised Nirvana with Evans, whom he knew through sideman duties and who was slowly re-emerging after the death of Scott LaFaro.
