Temporarily breaking away from saxophone soloing, Evan Parker teams up with turntablist and sampler Matthew Wright – together with Spring Heel Jack duo John Coxon and Ashley Wales and Electro Acoustic Ensemble bassist Adam Linson – to embark on a musical journey of discovery and wonder. These are pieces that usher in a new direction, as well as rewinding to an era when electronics and sound sampling were originally being incorporated into improvisational music. Stirrings from Parker's early 1970s contribution to experimental composer Basil Kirchin's legendary Worlds Within Worlds session undulate throughout, together with references to his own Evan Parker With Birds that he recorded for Coxon's Treader label in 2004 – two elements that act as the blueprint for the dream music they unfold during these performances. The overall sound loops around Parker's trademark circular-breathing technique, here amplified and elegantly distorted by the addition of Wright's sampling skills as he electronically shapes the group mix into a form that encourages the listener to let their imagination run wild and take flight.
