Few labels better define the openness of contemporary jazz than Siggi Loch's ACT, and in turn few projects better define Loch's project than Jazzpaña. Indeed, it was the first project that the label recorded, back in 1992: a happy collision between the leaders of Spain's ‘Nuevo Flamenco’ and US jazz stars such as Michael Brecker backed by the WDR Big Band, it garnered a couple of Grammy nominations and set ACT's agenda to be a platform for ‘Music for people with open ears and open minds.
