Etheridge and Carroll album launch - 1/10/08 Pizza Express Jazz Club, London

Friday, October 3, 2008

A rare collaboration between guitarist John Etheridge and singer Liane Carroll wowed the audience at the Pizza Express Jazz Club in Soho last night as the duo launched their new album, Break Even. Accompanied by Pete Whittaker on organ and Mike Fletcher on drums, the quartet played a selection of tracks from the disc.

Ranging from the up-tempo funk of ‘Rock Me Babe’ to the slow, blues ballad ‘Picture In A Frame,’ while ‘And When I Die’ finished with Carroll doing an impressive octave-jumping scat vocal and Etheridge evoking his inner Hendrix.
A good taster of the album which is in stores from 27th October 2008 (available to download from 30th September 2008). John Etheridge returns for a 6-night residency at Pizza Express with guests including Arild Andersen, John Marshall, Chris Garrick and John Williams from Sunday 26th Friday 31st October.
