There’s a bumper line-up to mark four decades of this popular London festival
The Ealing Jazz Festival takes over London’s Walpole Park as it marks its 40th anniversary on 3-4 August with an eclectic bill of jazz, neo-soul and global grooves. Held annually in the vibrant London borough of Ealing, the line-up features headline shows from powerful nine-piece jazz soul collective Nubiyan Twist – who recently released their acclaimed new album Find Your Flame – and also a show from award-winning saxophonist YolanDa Brown.
Further names announced include vocalist/keyboardist Allysha Joy, the groovy horn-led London Afrobeat Collective, the jazz-meets-broken-beats of Tanhai Collective and contemporary soul singer Mica Sefia backed by her 11-piece band.
There’s also progressive Brazilian and latin jazz sounds from keyboardist Anna Stubbs’ Kinkajous trio, and further latin sounds from South London based music performance and education group Youthsayers and their forerunners Soothsayers – with both bands performing on the bill – all exploring a sophisticated blend of progressive jazz and latin sounds.
The Festival is run by The Event Umbrella on behalf of Ealing Council and is part of The Ealing Summer Festivals series.
