Chelsea’s 606 club has announced some important bookings during December and January including a special performance by the Nigel Kennedy Quintet, Peter King with his quintet featuring Mornington Lockett, the Liane Carroll Trio and two special Yamaha nights, featuring a launch for this month’s Jazzwise covermount CD, New Jazz Sessions, and a Yamaha trumpet night featuring Ryan Quigley, Paul Eshelby with the Gareth Williams Trio and guests.

Gwilym Simcock (left) launches his new double album Blues Vignette with his trio this week as Jazzwise hits the streets, at the Pizza Express Jazz Club in London on Friday and then beds in for a season at the Soho club with guests coming down to join him in the basement venue.

Walthamstow jazz-skronk-rockers Led Bib – who play a sold out gig at the Vortex tonight as part of the London Jazz Festival – continue to reap the rewards of their Mercury Music Prize-nominated album Sensible Shoes by signing a worldwide media synchronisation deal with prestigious publishers Faber Music.
