Legendary Guitar Innovator Les Paul Dies Aged 94

The guitar world is mourning the loss of one of its founding fathers with the passing of guitar design innovator and multi-track recording pioneer Les Paul who died on 13 August aged 94.

Rashied Ali, the revolutionary drummer most associated with John Coltrane’s late period and in particularly the important duo album Interstellar Space, died yesterday aged 74, it has been announced.

London’s F-IRE Collective has programmed a significant strand of next month’s Thames festival organised by the mayor of London with a line-up set to feature Nick Ramm’s quirky circus-influenced band, Clown Revisited, prog-jazz trio Troyka and Polar Bear drummer Seb Rochford’s alternative Henry Cow-influenced band, Fulborn Teversham.
