Acclaimed filmmaker Anthony Stern, known for his vivid impressionistic style, has created a stunning, sensory, film of the incredible Cuban Jazz Plaza Festival, aptly entitled Havana Jazz. Packed with musical highlights from festival performers and featuring evocative ambient scenes from around this wonderful city.

Esperanza Spalding - Video Interview

Being a young, black, female, acoustic bass player and singer definitely marks out 21-year-old bass prodigy Esperanza Spalding from the hordes of jazz hopefuls graduating from the likes of Berklee and the Royal Academy. While none of these facts are significant in isolation, it's the rare combination of her natural aptitude for the instrument and her incredibly mature musical instincts that have the jazz seniority raving about her.

Peter Whittingham Jazz Award

Mark Holub and his ensemble, Led Bib, are this year's winners of the Peter Whittingham Jazz Award. The £4,000 award will be used to fund a small festival in London and release a new Led Bib album.
