London-based experimentalists Kinkajous, led by drummer / producer Benoît Parmentier and saxophonist Adrien Cau, share their new single ‘Shifting Sands’, taken from their forthcoming album Nothing Will Disappear, which is set for release on 18 October via Nottingham’s Running Circle label. The duo have also announced a London show on 29 November at Metronome, where they will launch their new album.

The forthcoming album blends atmospheric electronic orchestrations and jazz instrumental sensibilities, presenting a contrasting set that ranges from groove-led sounds to ambient explorations. Joined by Jack Doherty on synths/ keys, Andres Castellanos on bass, alongside the formidable strings of Alan Keary, Nothing Will Disappear dives into an immersive cinematic sound world.

“With our previous record being quite dark and introspective, we wanted to escape into a different space with this music,” explains Parmentier. “We wanted it to be more colourful, more driven, while pushing towards the edges of fragility and vulnerability.”

Nothing Will Disappear marks a step-up from the band’s previous work, the work which pushed them into sell-out headline shows at London’s Jazz Café and King’s Place, alongside a gargantuan collaboration last winter with the London Contemporary Orchestra at London’s EartH Theatre, and performances at Bluedot and EFG London Jazz Festivals. In addition to this, their previous two studio albums garnered critical acclaim from tastemakers such as Gilles Peterson, BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 6, The Vinyl Factory, Bandcamp and more.
