Video of the Day: Rising UK pianist Ashley Henry heads out on UK Tour and shares video for ‘Love Is Like A Movie (feat. Judi Jackson)’

Following the release of his critically acclaimed third studio album, Who We Are, which saw Ashley Henry  collaborate with a diverse array of contemporary artists including Grammy-nominated poet and lyricist Aja Monet, Grammy-nominated trumpeter Theo Croker, vocalist Judi Jackson and London hip hop artist MAK, the pianist has announced be taking music from the album on the road for a series of UK gigs.

Taking on inspiration from his London upbringing and Jamaican heritage, Ashley Henry’s genre-bending sound and collaborative practice draw on the powerful words of civil rights activists James Baldwin and Angela Davis, and the uplifting to the soulful sounds Ahmed Jamal and George Benson to create his own highly personal take on contemporary jazz.
