Four thousand pounds is up for grabs for jazz musicians under the age of 26 lucky enough to attain this year's Peter Whittingham Award.
This year's European Jazz Prize has been awarded to Bojan Z, the Bosnian pianist and composer. Organised by the Austrian Music Office the winner receives 14,500 Euros.
One of the last jazz festivals of the year takes place next month in deepest Devon.
